some pics of my 300g---still pretty new, not much for corals yet
Here's some pics of my 300g acrylic tank, it has dual back corner overflows, it measures 8'Lx30"Dx24"H. I haven't finished the stand or the canopy yet, I just got my lights, so I had to wait on the canopy till I got them, and as for the stand.....just me being lazy I guess

Re: some pics of my 300g---still pretty new, not much for corals yet
For fish I have a regal tang, a kole tang, a purple tang(has slight HLLE, had it when I got him, slowly clearing up), an orange shoulder tang, a foxface, 2 maroon clowns(white stripe and gold stripe), both living in a BTA, and a pair of ocellaris clowns.
I also have 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 cleaner shrimp, 2 sally lightfoot crabs, 3 emerald crabs, and a ton of snails and blue leg hermits, a few small feather dusters, and one large one, and probably a ton more lifeforms that I failed to mention.

Re: some pics of my 300g---still pretty new, not much for corals yet
Thanks all...
I will take some more pics of the stand(keep in mind that by no means am I an expert on building aquarium stands). I used 2x6's and 2x4's. I believe I used about 10-2x6's, and about 20-2x4's(give or take a couple). I searched around on the internet, and to have one professionally made would cost about $1500+, so needless to say, I went the much cheaper way. I have not had any issues with the stand, it's been full and running now for about 3-4 months. I still haven't finished the outside of the stand, it's still just the framework as I wanted to keep it like a skeleton for the first few months so I could make sure everything was running/setup right, with no leaks or problems. Had a few small leaks(my error of course) in the plumbing, but caught early and resolved with minimal water loss. I guess it's about time to finish off the stand.
To answer your question burgerking, I want as many different species of corals as I can get.

Re: some pics of my 300g---still pretty new, not much for corals yet
Also, if you search around on the net(monster fish keepers I believe), I found a guy who built a stand for a 300g tank, only he used alot less bracing then I did. So basically, I took his design, and added to it with extra bracing, and alot more 2x4's.

Nice looking tank Acrylic! Is that a kole tang (with a shrimp cleaning it) in the picture above?

Hey,
Yes it is a Kole tang being cleaned by a shrimp. Now that I look at the pic, he looks a little pale in that pic.....not sure why, he's actually pretty dark.

He is a little pale in the pic, but he looks great none the less. The Kole is one of my personal favourites!

Here are some pics of the stand and how I built it....it's hard to get good shots as everything's set up and there's wires and crap everywhere.
