Well I got 50% of the water changed(over 2 days), two of the filters cleaned and parts changed. Scrubbed the agle off the front and sides where I can reach. Got rid of a really big fish that was ...

A couple of the most overlooked items for new comers (and old hands) to the hobby are grounding probes and GFI sockets! THESE 2 ITEMS CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE!

A bit of history. Early last year I noted a significant increase in my tank temperature. Unknown to me a seal had let loose in one of my heaters causing a fault/voltage leak. I reached into my sump to check my heater and WHAM - an electrical shock that curled my toes and luckily tripped the breaker in my electrical panel. When I stuck ...

My roommates and I are thinking we want to set up our first marine tank. We've got several freshwater tanks around the house, and feel ready (as much as a beginner can, at any rate) to start up our first saltwater.

We plan to have, at the very least, a tank ready to start up by the end of summer. This will give us time to research what we want, what we need, and what we can afford to accomodate the types of life we want to have.

However, we seem to differ on one point.
