From what I've found on the net, they're pretty docile for a tang.....should be a nice addition. I'll post some pics of him when I pick him up.

Thanks again for all the help on my cyciling queston.

Now that my tank has been running for 5 weeks I'd like to add a Hippo to go with my 2 clowns(the kids really want a Dory)

From all the research I'ver been doing it sounds like my 55 gal is too small for a full grown Hippo, so I'm planning on getting a small one (maybe 2 inches) and when it starts to out grow my tank in a year or two- trade it in to my LFS for a smaller one and possibly store credit. Does this sound ...

Hi

I'm new to the hobby.

I started a 55 gal SW tank in early December by addiing live sand and 75 lbs of live rock. Then on Christmas eve I added 2 clown fish. last week I added a cleaner shrimp, I also have what looks like teddy bear crab that came with the LR.

I have been testing on a weekly basis and as of last night I have nothing, no ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate. I'm not too worried about it as all the livestock seem very happy and heathly-just curiuos, I guess, as to why ...

I tested my calcium levels today and they seem rather um.....perfect, and well a little too perfect imo for a tank that has not had calcium added to it in years.
the copperband butterflyfish (Chelmon rostratus) is a true beauty - and yes, there are differing opinions on whether you can successfully keep them. This is due, in part, to the fact that individual copperbanded butterflyfish vary in hardiness. Some settle into their new homes within several days, and begin eating fresh and frozen foods, while many refuse to feed.

Why the big difference? Some of it is related to how the fish is captured and handled before it gets to your tank. For example, ...

You select a fish you are told will work with your corals, only to have it start picking on your favorite specimen. Can you ever be sure how a particular species is going to behave in your reef tank?

There are certainly fish species that have a good track record with corals. The most trustworthy fish in a reef aquarium are those that do not have jaws and teeth used for grazing on sessile invertebrates. These fish include mainly carnivores that feed on tiny surface- and bottom-dwelling crustaceans ...
