I'd appreciate your input on this.

I got a 90 g tank with about 120 lbs of LR. and about 3" of sand. It'll be a full lblown reef tank. I don't have a cleanup crew in there yet, but I'm slowly looking into what i should add in there.

What would you guys purchase to keep your tank clean? Which snails, crabs, stars, sea cucumbers? etc etc etc ...

Thanks!

Advice on clean-up crew

I'm looking to get a cleanup crew for my 110 display + 35 sump. I already have about 5 hermits (1 zebra/left handed, 2 blue, and 2 mexican), 5 nassarius snails, and 5 trochus snails plus a few stomatella.

Any recommendations for where to purchase cleanup crews?

Also, any advice on the mix of crabs and snails (how many, what types)? I'm planning on doing a reef tank with some fish.

Thanks,

Suggested cleaner crew for a predator tank?

Hello all. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for adding a crew to a tank which houses Puffers, morray eel, and lionfish. All others are reef friendly but, these guys definately not. Even my astria's had to be removed due to my puffers. Does any one know of anything that will not be eaten by these guys. Of course I know that there are no guarantees, but would like to try, there is a tremendous amount of food going into the tank every day.

Thanks for any input.

ello, I've lost 2 cleaner shrimps in 3 months . I don't understand why!! Here are my water parameters:

PH: 8.3

Nitrite: 0

Nitrate: 20

Amonia: 0

Salt: 1.023

Temperature: 80 F

Got 1 Ocellaris clown and 1 yellow tail damsel in there off and 2 mini bluelegged hermit crabs.

The only thing I would see left checking would be the phosphates, I'm getting a test for that tonight...

SEA CUCUMBERS..TANK NUKERS????

there are a number of sea cucumber species whose body walls and internal organs contain a toxin known as holothurin that can rapidly deplete your fish population. This is such an effective ichthyotoxin that natives in some parts of the Indo-Pacific will use the macerated bodies of certain sea cucumbers to incapacitate fish.

For example, Frey (1951) wrote how natives of Guam introduced sea cucumber tissue fluids into tide pools to kill the fish they contained. It's interesting to note that ...
