June Photo of the Month

Post by Khayman on Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:12 pm

Dendrophyllia coral
This is my Dendro that I have been nursing back to health for a few months. I picked this up at a LFS and as you can see it was very sick looking. I have been working daily for the last 7 months to bring it back. The centre head is only 3 months old and has grown alot. There are also a few smaller heads that have formed on the old skeleton.

Then (November 2008)

Now

I hope you guys enjoy the pictures

Sun Coral

These are my favorite corals. I also brought these home very sick and have recovered them. I also have a Black Suncoral but I have not figured out how to make it show up in a picture yet.

I will agree. The Dendro is currently not doing so great. I think it is the heat. The heat in my aquarium jumped by 4 degrees last week. I lost my black Suncoral also the Dendro has 1 head that is peeling off a little and none of the heads are extending their tentacles. Does anyone have any advice?

I'm going through something with heating and cooling along with nutrition in the tank I think as long as you don't suck too much of the protein out of the tank and leave the tank with only a 2 degree F fluctuation through out a 24 hour period between 76 and 82 you should be fine along with controlling inorganics also regular feeding and ok lighting of course

your lighting and flow seem fine by the pics
