Sand Bed Dentrification and Nitrogen Gass Bubbles?

Post by MadWorld on Sun May 31, 2009 10:06 pm

I have bubbles in my sand bed, which is good right? Because the denitrifiction bacteria are at work?

I have 2 inch of sandbed in the front of the tank, and less than .5 inch of sand in the back, this is due to my pistol shrimp, he likes no sand in his turf, which caused the DSB in the front.

In my experience if bubbles ares showing up that is a sign that Cyano is coming. You need more flow or maybe a sifting goby. How old is the tank?

It is 2 months old. Everyday there are bubbles, im shifting the sand myself with a plastic rod.

There is a lot of growth of brown (diatoms) and green algae, bad or is it normal for growing tank?
