Bamboo Sharks!

Post by LiveRock on Sun May 31, 2009 2:09 am

well at my good friends 550 gallon shark tank, his bamboo sharks made a happy little egg that hatched 2 days ago. set up the little guy in my 65 gallon where he seems to be very happy and we will re introduce him into the 550g tank when he gets a little bigger Smile

Sounds like quite an interesting addition your babysitting. How big, or small should I say is a 2 day old Bamboo Shark? I hope you post a pic when your camera dries out.

I've seen one or two bamboo sharks at local lfs and they were generally small in size (roughly 12") and had never really thought about age but they must have been young if the new born is allready 8".

How long do you guys figure it will take before he's large enough to re-introduce him back into that monster 550g?

I'm still curious as to how long you guys think it will take before the little guy can stand up to his larger tank mates in the 550g?

Wow, that wasn't exactly the time frame I was expecting to hear. I figured you would be babysitting for a few months...not years....lol

they grow quite slow but he is getting fed twice a day so it could range anywhere from 10-20 months
