Day 8, Male holding

Well he is looking alittle more relaxed now..He has positioned the egg sac further down his throat so he can almost close his mouth now...
He still rolls them around alot...for better oxygen...
Last night he rolled them, and they came right out to the tip of his bottom lip..I thought for sure that was it, he was gonna drop them...but nope he didnt, hes just a good dad..
I am going to put the sponge from the filter in my DT tank today to make sure it is good and seeded for the babies when they go in the 5 gallon growout tank....

awww thats a bummer. Are your banggai young?? I find the younger fish have a harder time, just less experienced. Hopefully they'll get freaky again for ya.

Do you think he might've been hungry? Maybe over feed him a little bit and see what happens. My rusties swallow their brood sometimes, usually when big pappa breeds to early after the last brood

My poor little bugger looks like his cheeks are going to pop at any second. Expected him to spit 3 days ago but he's still holding tight. At this point I can actually see fry in his mouth Very Happy
