I just made a DIY Aqua Clear 50 mini refugium doesn`t look too bad am in the mist of setting up a brand new 45 gallon reef tank but as I read some say put live rock in now some say wait! I have tank filled with just saltwater and #2 substrate in it now about an inch all around but I don`t want to put my live rock in and lose it all or wait too late and have it not really do its job in my refugium and in my tank a little confussed but thats nothing new lol!

I am of the opinion that the rock should go in immediately. I don't know of any valid reason to delay.
But don't be worrying about destroying your rock if it doesn't get into your tank immediately. When liverock comes to Canada from fiji or where ever it is sent in cardboard boxes with the rock wrapped in newspaper or in a heavy plastic liner...no water. From collection in the ocean to arrival in Canada the process can take months. Good bacteria dies but it returns over time (tank cycling period)
Even if you were to pull liverock from a buddies tank and immediately put it yours good bacteria die off in the rock will probably occur as it is very unlikely that your water parameters will match.
If you do decide against adding the rock immediately just protect it from environmental contaminants such as dust, chemicals air freshener sprays etc by keeping it in an enclosed container or plastic lined box etc.
