Lots of different Cowries available. Some will eat the algae some will not. Best to research the specific type you are interested in.

Chestnuts and money cowries usually reef safe when smaller and ample algae is available. As they get larger and/or algae is depleted they may begin to feed on corals like zoas and star polyps. You just need to keep an eye on them.

well if i keep him he will be going in the fuge, just because hes too big for the mantis to get (hes about 2.5-3.5 inches)

edit: and there wont be any corals in there

i have a cowrie only comes out at night, really don't know if he does a good job compared to the other snails i have but the shell is very nice and glossy Smile
