Aiptasia-X Empty Aiptasia-X

Post by Cookieman888 Mon Dec 22, 2008 10:07 pm

For those of you unfortunate enough to come across aiptasia in your tank I'm sure you know how difficult it is to kill. God forbid you break it apart or don't fully kill it...it begins to spread like wild fire creating an eye sore in short order.

This summer tried a product called Aiptasia-X by Red Sea after hearing about it on another forum. This product is truely amazing. Initially when you squirt the product toward the aiptasias mouth it starts to shrink away, then it seems to change its mind and actually reaches forward for more. Coat the aiptasia's head and watch it implode within minutes, gone forever. Never had a return appearance since I used this product.

Aiptasia-X Empty aiptasia

Post by SHARKY Sun Jan 04, 2009 4:18 pm

The best way i found to get rid of this pest is to pick up a banner fish.I tried joe's juice, copper banded butterfly and had no success they were over taking my tank. The banner fish had my 125gal.tank spotless in a couple of days and didn't touch any of the soft corals

Aiptasia-X Empty Re: Aiptasia-X

Post by Garrett Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:47 pm

I dunno about you guys but the leeding cause of an aiptasia outbreak is over feeding your tank, the more food the fish are missing the more aiptasia will feed and multiply. I had an out break once than i just starting feeding a lil bit making sure all the fish eat everything before i feed more and with in a matter of a week or two all aiptasia was all gone, as far as peppermint shrimp that is very hit and miss and the same with aiptasia eating fish but I would never recommend buying a fish to eat aiptasia thats just my personal opinion and although aiptasia-x is prob a good product there is always natural methods and thats what i always try first as fish stores like to sell you a bottle of everything they can when 99% of the time you dont even need it. PS lemon juice is the secret to Aiptasia-X.
Also there is aiptasia that is ok for your tank but it usually lives under rocks and out of the light, this aiptasia I found is helpful getting any missed food and they dont grow very big at all approx 1 inch max. its the aiptasia that grows in the light that are visible and those are bad but more soo ugly than bad lol and aiptasia is an anemone its designs to catch uneaten food in the ocean so if you decrease the amount of uneaten food in your tank you decrease aiptasia, intern you dont end up wasting money on quick fixes from your local fish store. Often there is always a simple solution to every problem if you read enough about it. Very Happy

Dont mean to preach but just some insight for you guys.
