Looks like your off to good start on your phyto grow op. My last set of cultures crashed and I haven't had a chance to pick up a new one yet to get mine going again.

Re: 225G ECO and 20G frag

DIY Phytoplankton 1/8 cup per 20G to start and slowly increasing over time to 1 cup IMO is the future of saltwater tank's this over looked product will be my pridiction along with a ATS and zooplanton that will open this hobby up to anyone that is into keeping surtton hard to keep coral and fish that will bring a very natural approach to reefkeeping
nutrition imo is key
everything has been done so I decided to gear my studies toward's bringing this to my tank
we can easily provide enough light and flow but can anyone honestly say they have pushed nutrition to the max?

ALGAE TURF SCRUBBER:
On a 90G DT/25G Sump
T5-HO 192 Watt Acrylic Box Design Above Sump
Approx Screen 22" Width x 13" Height
Flow750 GPH
Dual Fan
The
ATS2010
PHYTO
Copied from santa monica.
Acrylic Box:
23 1/4" to 24" length
3 1/2" to 4" width
16" to 17" height
Light Canopy:
Total 192watts
There will be a canopy on each side of the screen it will be
lit by 4-t5 high output 6500k bulb's.
Light Canopy Demension's:
Approx 23 1/4" length x 10.1/8" x 2 1/4"
The light's are 1" tucked up inside measuring from out side of the canopy frame inner tip of lip to outside of the light tube.
The canopy also has reflector's the canopy is called sunlight supply with a workhorse ballast I believe.
This is the light canopy I will use x2.

Screen:
22 1/2" width x 13 9/16" height x little over 2/8" thickness approx with 4 screen's glued
together.
This is the type of screen I will use x4 the size is discribed above thickness is 3/4 of a 1/16 of a inch?, $2 each @ walmart in the fabric section.

I will use 4 of them glued together and roughed up like crazy on each side using 60 grit sand paper and maybe a steal filer or something.
Pump:
Will be approx 750GPH.
This is the pump.

Pipe:
I'll be using 1/2" pipe from the pump approx 26" height
then a union I think it's called and another 24" length pipe for the box
Return:
This is the type of bulkhead I will use.

I'm thinking of using the common bulkhead's used for pool's probably 2
1 being the main and the other will be just above water level inside box to be on the safe side probably not neccessary.
ATS Positioning:
I plan on positioning the ATS right over my sump in the middle.
This is the new home for my ATS.

Fan's:
Hoping 2 will do mostly black plastic fan's.

Re: 225G ECO and 20G frag
I'm curious why you're using a seperate pump to feed the ATS instead of just feeding it directly from the overflow box on your DT? Whats the benefit?
Are the fans for cooling the bulbs?

Re: 225G ECO and 20G frag
This is the one I will copy but on a larger scale
the santa monica 120 I got a few thing's to figure out nothing big thou
http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic89570-4-4.aspx
like thickness of acrylic?
painting it?
size of fan's?
Insump work's great just wanted to make something nice and fine tune it one day for look's so everything is hidden and that I can get the light real close to the screen
Fan's are for cooling the ballast's and bulb's because they will be up against the Acrylic not 100% but feel ballast's work best at cooler temp
along with if the pump stop's pushing water it doesn't fry the algae to much
not 100% on that neither hoping the box will stop most of the heat in that situation I heard that if that happen the algae create's a crust stoping the rest from frying
I want to go on the safe side and use 2 double the size of a hardball size fan's one on the front ballast and one on the back ballast one pushing the air to the left and the other one to the right right on the ballast/between the acrylic and ballast and abit and behind it
I wanted high power ATS with no P.S or macro only solely the ATS
only because I normally run tank's all natural with flow, rock, pod's,natural filter
this will allow me to dose plenty more then I even thought was humanly possible due to most of my food being alive

No problem people can alway's add a ATS scrubber with less flow/light to compliment their Skimmer and refuge as well
but if you go too big then macro won't grow along with the skimmer not being able to work I believe or atleast it will be watery and light yellow the skimmate instead of thick and dark coloured

Temp in my tank reached 83F so I went out a bought these fans from walmart work's great now my temp stays at 78F during the night and 79F during the day on low speed with 8-t5,H.O on a 90G/25Gsump

Tumbled marble frag plugs from home depot

Also created this so I can cut then glue later to a plug and or maybe create patterns with zoo's

Was just experimenting with this type of way to ship maybe I'll add it to a large pill bottle then tripple bag for shipping

was thinking of doing a batch of frag plugs again I like this type of mold I'm thinking of buying some I figured it would give a slight half dome shape while being flat on the bottom of the plug if the mold will work and cement does'nt stick to silicone/rubber?
