renting a pair of nemo's and 3-chromis's for the first bit of preperation's and a small female mandarin that will stay later I'll get rid of chromis's/nemo's later and keep the female mandarin then I'll slowly add the 2nd male mandarin

just a pair of mandarin's trying to get them into breeding condition's later hopeful a pair of pipefish the yellow strip one's if I can go 100% live food If I fail then it will be mostly for coral propagating I want to have mostly high end zoo's/ric's/yuma

update on progress new 450gph lift pump and all but 40 lb's of LR and 2 nemos's,3 chromis's and 1 small mandarin got rid of alot of fish and rock













it will be a 225G system instead of a 200G
correction on the kenya tree raceway I'll be using it for yuma's,high end zoo's etc too

Since unpluging my mrc life is good my zooplankton,worm's,micro star's,slug's,snail's are reproducing like mad can't wait to finish this system

it's a lot of work but seahorse's,pipefish's,mandarin's fell into place when researching coral's and propagating,nutrition,natural filter,natural export,t5 H.O bluer light,light cycle's,light/live food manipulation of coral's autotrophs vs heterotrophs adaptability percentage's,above display macro free refuge loaded with rock rubble for zooplankton system supply ,slow/medium flow, polyp size and proper live food capture/flow rate capture etc etc

side note not sure if possible but I believe there is a chance to cross breed some type's of coral's but probably a pipe dream I know it happens in the wild thou at time's under extreme condition's as a way to survive

thank's I'm from windsor alot not all of it was done in section's over the last 7 year's, 9 plus tank's 2,10,20,50,60,75,90 some x2 I'll be starting almost over from scratch never had a big system or many skill's just alot of research on the wild reef's and home aquarium's along with just trying to incorperate some idea's of alot of people/professional's together If I was to snap my finger's and had the money/skill I would hook up some of my idea's on a large large scale some day thou I hope

It's not all french to me but I am having trouble trying to follow along with the thread. If I have it right, it sounds like what you're trying to do is a great idea with all natural filtration, I'm just a little confused at exactly how it all ties together. A little detailed write up to explain whats happening would be helpful.

Protein skimmer's are great and people can have a wonderful tank with them but for me as a personal decision I decided to go without

IMO I don't won't to offend anyone so this is only my opinion

but would like to try to explain it it might take awhile

without a skimmer this give's me the ability to keep in protein's protein's are what I am trying to keep in a protein skimmer does not take out inorganic's it take's out organic's example food

when adding zooplankton,phyto I want to keep this in my tank along with having a refuge/predator free place where they can reproduce the zooplankton themselve's are scavenger's they act as little cleaner's like hermit's along as being food for my system

What I am trying to create is a very live deverse ecosystem very simular to the ocean
since mandarin's in the wild usualy spent their life time in a very small secton of the ocean like the size of a 90G I'm hoping to closely reproduce this natural state

Thanks, for the explanation. That makes things a bit easier to understand. Does the pond get tied into the 225g ECO system or is it a stand alone thing that will be harvested and added?

Stand alone to be harvested to feed different size coral's/animal's and extra that will supply my expensive hobby if thing's go well and I am able to maybe some day put this into action and show that once hard to keep species is now easily kept it might grow interest one day as a alternative to a tank with a skimmer not sure but would like find out

A algae turf scrubber is a alternative to a skimmer/refuge If you want I can describe this?

Actually since the algae turf scrubber was referenced earlier in a few threads here and there, I've actually been doing some reading and research on the topic and have found it to be quite informative and interesting.
It's like I tell people thinking about getting into marine tanks: "read as much as you can on the subject , then read some more and when you think you know it all....get another book"
I figure I'll never finish learning in this hobby.

That is so so true imo this hobby allow's me to learn simple thing's that I've missed when I was younger due to skipping grade school/not going to the right school's/not paying attention but now that I have found something I'm interested in I have a reason to try to upgrade simple thing's
like: computer's,carpentry,design,planning,research,science,biology,nutrition
grammar,punctuation,spelling,closed system and trying to duplicate the ocean by learning from it and simply trying to bring it to a home 5000 mile's away with species in the wild that would of never been put together in nature in a small box

some people say it can't be done etc I've stayed off forum's for my first 5 year's now after in my 7th year I pop up on them and no offense not this site but if your not on the right site with the right categories to post in a person leaves them self open to very personal attacks and threat's for having a different opinion because a person can get attacked on all aspect's of the hobby just because 99% do it one way and I do the other and try to stand up for my belief's I get stomped into the ground looking and feeling like I never learned a thing o yeah my reputation is garbage now wish more people had a open concept of the hobby like you never thought I would
