LIVE ROCK Empty LIVE ROCK

Post by R33f3r Mon Mar 23, 2009 7:07 pm

I was just wondering if anybody knows where I can buy some nice live rock from. All the stores here in London either have poor looking rock or they are having trouble getting rock....maybe there's a rock shortage (hahahehe). If anybody can send me some sites where I can order it or stores I can visit that would be great.

If you are planning a trip to Kitchener anytime soon, Rich at www.stashfrags.com was selling for $3.75/lb recently.
Other places to check are www.aquariumpros.ca in the classified section. Quite ofter you will also find a deal on Kijiji.
You can also try http://www.reefrocks.ca/ - about $4/lb and located in guelph.

Another quick question about LR.

There seems to be a bunch of small white feather dusters showing up all over the LR. They are generally smaller than a dime, but Im worried that if they go untreated it could become a problem down the road. I will try to get a pic tonight, but has anyone seen this kind of stuff before (matt).
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think there is a deliberate shortage of some sort since I haven't been able to get it from my suppliers in TO for a while now. I also think mabye the emphasis is on spending the price per pound for shipping on livestock rather than rock in these tough economic times.....

I wouldn't worry too much about the small feather dusters Derek. They come and go, don't harm a thing, and add a little more life to the tank. If you ever really intent on eliminating them for what ever reason there are a number of fish such as the copperbanded butterfly that would make short work of them.

Great, thanks.
They didn't bother me just wanted to make sure they weren't going to take over.
